It is known that horses are essentially grazing animals spending 75% of their day eating, their digestive systems benefit from small frequent feeds. However with school & family commitments it often a difficult task giving your horse the correct number of feeds he requires per day. Often we only have time to feed once possibly twice per day (slug feeding) or rely on family members to feed your horse for you. Every year horses suffer from colic and laminitis often due to feeding practices; not only do horses suffer from severe health problems it has been proven by recent studies conducted by KER Research, that horses not being fed several small feeds a day develop psychological problems due to boredom & hunger. Causing stable behavours such as wind suck, crib bite, weave and numerous other behavoural issues. (Gill, et. Al 2006) The automatic Horse feeder system can help to reduce the onset of these types of conditions occuring in your horse or pony.
